May 3, 2001 Bench Warrant for Contempt of Court Bench Warrant was Vacated |
Fleet Russell White, Jr, 52 of Boulder, Colorado received a subpeona to testify at a motions hearing of attorney Thomas Miller on May 3, 2001. Thomas Miller was charged by a grand jury with commercial bribery for accompanying a Globe tabloid editor to offer money for the ransom note in the Ramsey case. Fleet White did not appear for the hearing. District Judge Jane Tidball had charged White with contempt of court and issued a bench warrant. There were reports that Fleet White wrote a letter District Judge Jane Tidball and Jefferson County District Attorney Dave Thomas in advance of the hearing informing them that he refused to appear for the May 3, 2001 hearing as it dealt with a "sleazy tabloid lawyer." Fleet White was not arrested and was given until the end of the business day to appear in court before the police would arrest him. White did appear and the judge's bench warrant was vacated. |
