John and Patsy Ramsey on behalf of their son, Burke Ramsey filed lawsuit for libel against the Globe on May 11, 2000 in U.S. District Court, Atlanta. The libel claim came from a November 1998 Globe article: "Burke, 11, is the Killer -- say Crime Investigators -- And Burke will NEVER Stand Trial!" The Globe has been purchased by American Media. An American Media attorney said the lawsuit is the responsibility of Globe International Inc. Settled for an undisclosed amount in March 8, 2001 |
