MSNBC Update:
DA just said Scott Rosetto may have been DP's motive for killing his missing wife. (He'll cover it later in the hour.)
But here's the time line:
It's been said that about ten days before SP went missing she met with Rosetto (with whom SP shared racy emails and text messages) at Denny's--ten days before October 28th would have been October 18th--SP and DP's wedding anniversary when he supposedly gave her a ring.
A week before SP went missing she packed six boxes of DP's belongings and asks him to leave but he refuses.
The morning SP went missing she spoke with Bruce about painting an apartment.
Any way you cut it, DP knew SP wanted out, imagined SP either wanted him out of the house or was planning to leave him, possibly to be with another man.
Seems means, motive, and opportunity have all been met. All they need now is either strong evidence that SP is not alive, or to actually find her.

MSNBC Update:
DP says that his wife SP is still alive and he has a letter to prove it. Dan Abrams interviews DP attorney Joel Brodsky:
DA: FBI joined the search today. I am totally unconvinced that the letter your client is legit. Rosetto is saying that a jealous DP confronted him and SP a few days before her disappearance. Now we're hearing about a mysterious blue barrel.
Reporter: LE believe that SP is in this barrel and DP used weights to weigh the barrel down in a body of water.
DA: Racy, perverted messages were exchanged between Rosetto and SP for a couple of months prior to her disappearance. DP confronted them at a Denny's. Rosetto denies any affair.
DA: What about this barrel? One neighbor saw DP and another man moving this barrel into the Denali.
JB: I put no credence in that since the media has been camped in front of this house.
DA: But this was hours after she went missing and the media was not there.
JB: Why didn't this witness come forward before? Why would DP store 20 years worth of chlorine?
DA: This letter is unsigned and anonymous?
JB: There were attachments to this letter so I believe it is traceable. It describes her clothing and physical description and that of her companion.
DA: You know that wack jobs come out of the woodwork in these high profile cases. This sounds like a bunch of nonsense.
JB: I will release the letter if the ISP allows me to. This supposedly happened in a grocery store and the letter is so detailed, I would imagine the ISP can follow up on this.
DA: What about Rosetto and the confrontation between he and DP with SP.
JB: Rosetto has been caught in a lie. He told police that there was nothing between him and SP, but now the racy messages came out. There should be some suspicion thrown his way.
DA: When you weigh that against all the things they have against your client?!
JB: But have they caught him in a lie?
DA: What DP has said rises above a lie in my opinion.
More after the break.

MSNBC Update:
Did you know that the odds of having one wife drown and one missing is something like 1 in several billion! (mathmatically only four people of all the people on the planet could have that happen to them IIR the article correctly)
DA's interview of DP ex-fiance Kyle Piry:
DA: We know of four women in DP's life they are either dead, missing, or reported him to be controlling or abusive. Why did you break off your engagement with DP?
KP: When we were together and he had his kids he expected me to help him take care of the kids. He followed me and kept tabs on me. When we broke up he called me names, knocked me over a table and put me in a "police hold." I called the police and the officer who showed up was a friend of DP's. The officer asked me not to press charges. I was arrested a year and a half later for not paying parking tickets I never got. He pulled me over on my way home at night for ridiculous, bogus charges. When he approached the car he was smiling--it was a game to him.
DA: Do you think he is capable of what he's accused of?
KP: If you asked me back then I would have said no, but now with all the things in the news, it's possible. I thought it was important to come forward to warn women to be aware of all the little things that don't feel right.
DA to JB: It's kind of a bad pattern with your client here, right?
JB: Why are these people coming forward now, 25 years later?
DA: To make a difference--this is a high profile case and a lot has been revealed about your client --she's just corroborating the stories and helping to show a pattern. Look this is not a story coming out in a vacuum. This just corroborates what others have said and she's trying to warn other women to be careful.
JB: It's irrelevant and immaterial. This happened 25 years ago and there's a "vaguery" (huh?) of memory. She has no police report and no one else to back her up. All we're hearing are all the bad things about DP, after 29 years on the force, he's done a lot of good things.
DA: I'll invite you back so you can discuss all the good things he's done.
JB: OK, thank you.
