Caylee Marie Anthony HOMICIDE - Orlando, Florida (R.I.P. 2005-2008) Age: 2-1/2, Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her grandmother, Cindy Anthony on July 15, 2008. At that time Caylee's mother, Casey, said on the July 15, 2008 911 call that her daughter had been missing for "31 days." Date of disappearance is unknown but the math adds up to last seen as of June 15, 2008. (www.cnn.com "Judge denies Caylee's mother access to evidence " 12/16/2008): "Attorneys for the mother accused of killing Caylee Anthony will not have access to a site where investigators believe they have found the missing toddler's remains, a judge ruled Tuesday. The judge called the latest defense motions -- which asked for a second autopsy and access to crime scene photos, video and sketches from the site -- "pure folly." "I can't assist you in interfering with a murder investigation," 9th Circuit Judge Stan Strickland told defense attorneys for Casey Anthony." - "Because the judge wouldn't allow the defense team to get their own hands on evidence dug up from the site, lawyers asked this week if they could appoint someone else to oversee the examination of the remains. Strickland shot down the request, saying Anthony's defense team had no right to interfere with an ongoing investigation."

The crime scene was expanded from a half-acre to an acre. Experts from the FBI and other agencies were using different size sifters to check every bucket full of dirt in the area to recover even the smallest of bone fragments. Investigators brought in other experts, an anthropologist (bone expert), entomologist (bug expert) and a botanist (brush and foliage expert) to help identify evidence and put the story of what happened and when together. They're also helping determine what happened to the child's body before it was dumped there."

It might help determine where the duct tape came from that was found on a child's remains located near the Anthony home." - "An Ontario woman, Gloria Hilker, who has been tracking the Casey Anthony case on WFTV.com, emailed Eyewitness News what she says is Casey's Facebook page with a message about duct tape. She insists it's an authentic page she found and printed in July. One specific posting in late May, from who appears to be Casey's former best friend Amy Huizenga, reads, "You lost my duct tape. I was excited to have so much left. That's why (sic) I get for giving you my purse. The date it appeared to be posted, May 26, was around the same time as a "no clothes party" Casey attended. She had wrapped herself in a flag and, according to her, nothing else."

(www.cnn.com "Authorities confirm remains are Caylee Anthony's" 12/19/2008): "The cause of the child's death will be listed as homicide by undetermined means, said Jan Garavaglia, medical examiner for Orange County, Florida. She said she does not expect enough additional evidence to surface for that finding to be revised. The remains were identified through DNA testing, comparing a sample from the remains to a sample known to be from Caylee. Some of the remains had been sent to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, for testing." - "A "large percentage" of Caylee's skeleton has been recovered, Garavaglia said Friday. The bones showed no sign of trauma before death. Garavaglia said the manner of Caylee's death -- an opinion based on factors including an examination of the body and circumstantial evidence -- was determined to be homicide." "One of Casey Anthony's defense attorneys, Jose Garcia, entered the jail earlier, corrections officials said in a written statement. "Due to happenstance, not policy, attorney Garcia was not in the presence of the inmate when the notification was made," the statement said. "We will not be commenting on the demeanor of inmate Anthony or her reaction to the news." The Anthony family's pastor, Thomas Shane Stutzman of Eastside Baptist Church, arrived at the jail about 2 p.m. but left 19 minutes later because Casey Anthony had refused his visit, as she was meeting with Garcia at the time, jail officials said."

03:00pm. Search Warrant served AGAIN on Anthony's home 11:30am. Jose Baez was notified that the crime scene was released but said defense would not be responding.

George and Cindy Anthony were home when the search warrant was served at 3 p.m., a spokesman for the Orange County, Florida, sheriff's office said." "The defense team has fought unsuccessfully in court for access to the autopsy, the forensic evidence and to the scene where the remains were found. Nieves, the sheriff's spokesman, said the defense was notified at 11:30 a.m. that the scene would be released. But, Nieves said, attorney Jose Baez told him the defense would not be responding to the scene."

Sources told WFTV that CSI raided Casey's closet, took shoes, clothes, also two pairs of sunglasses and a pink zippered bag. They also took more of Caylee's clothes

Sources tell eyewitness news last Thursday, investigators were focused on little Caylee Anthony. They took her clothes, shoes and even her toys. Then over the weekend, another search warrant was executed. This time, they came back for Casey Anthony's belongings. They took more of Caylee's clothes, 5 to 8 pairs of Casey shoes and Casey's clothes as well. We are also told investigators took soil samples from the Anthony home over the weekend. Once defense attorney Jose Baez found out that was taken as part of the evidence, he sent out his own team and they collected soil from the home for there forensic experts. Sources tell WFTV, investigators also took two pairs of sunglasses and a pink zippered bag"

They said that was due to the level of the charges and to the safety and security risks which would be associated with such attendance."

She told me she thought I loved Caylee more than I loved her, which was the farthest thing from the truth, and then just wanted me to be a part of Caylee's life and not be Caylee's father, as I had been from the word go. So that was -- that was heart-breaking. I didn't talk to her for 10 months before we tried to be friends again, and then we even gave it a second try in November of 2007. But I could see there was something different about her. She wasn't the same Casey Anthony that I had chosen to spend the rest of my life with, and I broke up with her and closed the door to that chapter of my life romantically with her. But I wanted to remain a part of Caylee's life.

(ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL "New Developments in Caylee Anthony Case" 12/29/2008): JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST: Something has just occurred to me, Anita Kay. This area was supposedly under water. There was a storm that moved in toward the end of August and inundated the area with water. That`s why Tim Miller from Equusearch said he went there but wasn`t able to examine the area because it was underwater. So if the videotape shows -- Kathi Belich, let me go to you on this. If the videotape shows a bunch of water, that means nothing, because those remains could have been under the water. Right? KATHI BELICH, WFTV: "He showed a short clip of that videotape to one of our photographers, who said he saw a multicolored blanket of some sort, and he saw the fence that he recognized as the fence in the area." KATHI BELICH, WFTV: Now, I do want to make something clear. There are two different private investigators that I was referring to. The first one, who allegedly took the videotape, is not a member of the defense team. The other private investigator who they want to interview was a member of the defense team until October, and he`s now working for the Anthonys. Investigators want to talk to him now. And the defense has concerns, obviously, about any privileged information that investigators might want to ask him about when he was a member of the defense team. His name is Jim Hoover. It`s unclear. We`ve seen pictures of him with the private investigator who works for the Anthonys. He would not tell us who he works for, but we have seen him on the scene several times over several months."

(ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL "New Developments in Caylee Anthony Murder Case" 12/30/2008): JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST: I want to bring in Kathi Belich, who has been covering this from the very beginning. Kathi, OK, this private investigator says he videotaped that area in November. Now, was that area underwater? Because if the area was underwater and he videotaped that area, perhaps the body was submerged. There were storms in that area, and the area was reportedly underwater at one point. KATHI BELICH, WFTV: "Reportedly, it was at one point when EquuSearch was in that area. It was thickly wooded. I don`t believe there was water in that area in November. But it was very thickly wooded. And remember that before the storm came through in August, the investigators -- not the investigators, but the deputies had been in that area, looked in that area, and did not find what the meter reader was talking about. So it could be just a function of how thickly wooded that area was at the time. It`s been cleared since when the investigators were working in there. They cleared away a lot of brush. But it was very thickly wooded."

(ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL "New Developments in Caylee Anthony Murder Case" 12/30/2008): JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST: Do you realize how bizarre this whole story is? This is not just one man, OK? Going up in November and videotaping. We have to add the fact that the meter reader in August called three times, Kathi Belich, and urged authorities to go to this specific spot. And on top of that, additionally, Kathi, and I want to get your insight into this, it seems like everybody and his uncle in that town was telling cops to go to that site. A friend of Casey`s told them, "You`ve got to go to that site, because that`s where we used to hang out all the time when we were back in school." KATHI BELICH, WFTV: "Well, you know, the site that the friend was referring to was actually very close to that area. There`s sort of a -- you know, you haven`t been to that area, but there`s a street. It dead ends. And to the right of the dead end is the area where the remains were found. All the way at the end of the street, there`s a fence, and there`s a gate. And if you go through that gate, there`s a dirt road that leads down into the woods. That was the area, actually, that I believe the childhood friend was talking about. And I had actually been there back in August on that dirt road looking. But it turns out that it was right off the side of the road very close there. And because it was close to there."

"There is some concern that some activities that Lee may have been involved with during the investigation might have been seen to law enforcement to be misleading," said Luka. Luka said Florida's broad laws about tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice are what concerned him the most. PI says he filmed crime scene 11/15 on Surburban Drive but didn't find anything

(www.wftv.com "2nd Anthony Investigator Says He Videotaped Remains Site" 12/31/2008): "Dominic Casey, a colleague of [Jim] Hoover who works for the Anthonys, claims he went to the site in November with a camera to rule out the possibility that there was any evidence of Caylee there. Dominoc Casey said he didn't find anything, but admits he might have missed the remains. The pair of private eyes, one of whom was working for Caylee's grandparents, said they not only visited, but videotaped and photographed the wooded area. Dominic Casey also said that he and Hoover were following up on a tip one of Casey Anthony's childhood friends, Kiomarie Cruz, had given detectives." - Dominic Casey said he took the pictures on November 15, the day the Anthonys were away at a Kidfinders' function. Dominic Casey said, since he didn't find anything, he never mentioned his search to the Anthonys until December 11, which is the day the Orange County meter reader discovered Caylee Anthony's remains"
