Caylee Marie Anthony HOMICIDE - Orlando, Florida (R.I.P. 2005-2008) Age: 2-1/2, Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her grandmother, Cindy Anthony on July 15, 2008. At that time Caylee's mother, Casey, said on the July 15, 2008 911 call that her daughter had been missing for "31 days." Date of disappearance is unknown but the math adds up to last seen as of June 15, 2008. ANN LENINGTON 8 KA-MS. KAREN ANGEL 9 KK: This is Dectective Ken kraubetz of the Orange county Sheriff's Homicide 10 Unit. With me in the room is Detective Sue Hempfield, with the Orange county 11 Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit, uh, Karen Angel, and ? 12 AL: Ann Lenington 13 KK: Ann Lenington. Uh, Karen if you could uh, what's your date of birth 14 KA: [Blacked Out] 15 KK: Okay, and we're here in regards to uhm, talking about a situation that happened 16 on Father's Day. Uh, if you could, tell us what you remember from that day. 17 KA: Yeah (affirmative). I remember uhm, I worked three to eleven that day and the 18 daughter was here visiting her dad with the grand baby. 19 KK: And the gentleman's name was? 20 KA: Alex, Alex Pleasea. Uh-hum (affirmative), Alexander Plesea. 21 KK: Okay, and do you remember the daughter's name? 22 KA: No, I don't know her name. 23 KK: Okay. 24 KA: Okay. 25 SH: She visits frequently, or you recognized her? 1 Angel, Karen/Case#08-069208/GG 1 KA: Oh, yeah (affirmative), she's been here there before. She visits her dad. Sometime it's 2 her with uhm, I'm not sure if that's her husband that comes and visit him 3 sometimes, yes. 4 KK: Okay, And on thid particular day who was with her? 5 KA: Her grand baby. (Inaudible) 6 KK: And do you remember her name? 7 KA: Uh, no, not really at that time, no. No, no, no. 8 SH: Had... 9 KA: No. 10 SH: ...you ever seen the grand baby before? 11 KA: No. 12 SH: And that's... 13 KA: No. 14 SH: ...the first time you saw her? 15 KA: Uh-hum (affirmative) 16 SH: Okay. Do you remember anything unusual about how, you said you had an 17 encounter with her. Tell us what... 18 KA: Yes. I, I was playing with her. I ask her what's her name. I was like, "Hey cutie. 19 Tell me you name." And uhm, she kind of blushed. And then I said,"Can I have 20 a hug?" And I picked her up and she laid on my shoulder. And then when I put 21 her back down she was like, "Bye." And I... 22 KK: Do you remember what her name was? What she told you? 23 KA: No. But no, just about the news. Now because this, you don't keep stuff like 24 that. You know so many kids come in the unit, you know, so. 25 2 Angel, Karen/Case#08-069208/GG 1 SH: Did you recognize the child that that was here on that day as the child that you 2 saw on the news? 3 KA: Yes. Yes... 4 SH: Okay. 5 KA: ...that's her. 6 SH: And you recognize the clothes she was wearing? 7 KA: That's her. Yes. She had on a blue uhm, uh, white shorts... 8 SH: Uh-hum (affirmative) 9 KA: ..and a blue top. And... 10 SH: And you recognize the picture? 11 KA: ...the top...yes, on the picture, yeah (affirmative), that's her. 12 SH: And you recognize that as a ... 13 KA: And... 14 SH: ...picture that was taken... 15 KA: Yes, and the book. 16 SH: ...here at the facility? 17 KA: And the book, yes. Yes. 18 KK: And you didn't notice any, any unusual bruising... 19 KA: No. 20 KK: ...or injuries... 21 KA: I didn't see any bruises on her. 22 KK: ...the child may have? 23 KA: No. She's a happy child. A happy, little girl. 24 KK: What time do you... 25 KA: Very happy. 3 Angel, Karen/Case#08-069208/GG 1 KK: ...remember seeing them? What time did they visit at? 2 KA: Uhm, I think it was like before supper. Because I came on at three. And it could 3 be any way between after four, five o'clock. 4 KK: Okay 5 KA: Yes. 6 KK: Do you recall how long they were here? 7 KA: No. Huh-huh (negative). No. 8 KK: Do you remember seeing them leave? 9 KA: No. No. 10 AL: Karen... 11 KA: Because... 12 AL: ...are you sure of the time? Because I've got you working uh, twelve hours that 13 day. 14 KA: Yeah (affirmative), it was in, in the afternoon though. Yeah (affirmative), it was in 15 the afternoon I was at, that, that I was here that I remember, yeah (affirmative). 16 It could have been lunch too. I don't remember now (chuckles) that you're 17 talking. I was here twelve hours. But uhm, because I usually do three to eleven. 18 Well I'm here just today, but (chuckles). 19 KK: Hmm. 20 KA: Yeah (affirmative). But it, but I, uh, I think though it was during almost supper 21 time though. I think that yeah (affirmative) 22 SH: Do you remember anything else from that day? 23 KA: No. No. Not until I saw the news yesterday. I'm like, "Oh, I know that little girl," 24 uh, yeah (affirmative). 25 KK: Anything that you can think of at the time didn't seem like anything but... 4 Angel, Karen/Case#08-069208/GG 1 KA: No. No, everything, no, huh-huh (negative). 2 KK: Okay. 3 KA: Huh-huh (negative). 4 KK: I can't think of anything else, you? 5 SH: Do you swear and affirm everything we put on tape is true and correct to the 6 best... 7 KA: Oh, yes. 8 SH: ...of your knowledge? 9 KA: Oh, yes. 10 SH: Okay. 11 KA: Oh, yes. 12 SH: Today's date's July 22, 2008, and the end at 1113 hours. 13 KA: Okay. 14 KK: And we initiated at... 15 SH: Three or four, five minutes ago. 16 KK: Okay.
