Writer notes that Polk County Sheriff's Office Captain James Elenski was present at the scene also. Writer notes that HCSO Captain A. Hill, and Major H. Winsett were present also; see crime scene logs for a complete list of all personnel who entered the scene.

Writer, Det. Thomas and CSI Brando then entered the residence at 5732 Hwy 60 East at which time CSI Brando photographed and video recorded the interior of the residence prior to the search of the residence. Writer notes the only evidence collected on this day was the video tape and the items of possible evidence recovered on the ground outside; see inventory # 519901 items 1 and 2, inventory # 519902 items 1-13, and inventory # 519903 items 14-16. Writer notes the scene was secured for the night.

After leaving the scene, writer was flagged down by a citizen. Writer then met and interviewed David Porter; see interview.

On 01/27/10 Writer, CSI Brando, Cpl. Picard, Det. D. McGill, and Polk Co SO Det. Lynn entered the residence and conducted a walkthrough of the residence. Writer was advised by Det. Lynn of statements made by Dorice Moore to Greg Todd Smith in which she advised the shooting of Abraham Shakespeare occurred in the office within the house and that Abraham had been seated in the "round" chair and that he was dragged out of the office and into another room. CSI Brando then conducted analysis of the carpet of the office using "Bluestar" which yielded a positive result for blood on the carpet between the round chair and the desk, as well as on the carpet in front of the door opening to the kitchen. Writer notes that CSI Brando conducted further analysis of the office with Bluestar; see supplement. Writer assisted CSI Brando in cutting a square section of the carpet located in the northeast corner of the office; which was impounded; see Inventory # 519965 item 1. Writer notes that Crime Scene Detectives Cashwell # 2121and Hager # 4857 then processed the entire inside of the residence for latent fingerprints; see supplement.

On the same date writer and CSI J. Brando # 10182 began removing items from off of the concrete pad behind the residence located at 5802 Hwy 60 East. Writer notes that the piece of angle iron, believed to have been placed there by Dorice Moore, was located on the west side of the slab, approximately one-third from the south end. Writer notes there were also pool cleaning supplies as well as rugs and carpet remnants piled on the slab. Writer notes the carpet remnants, rugs, and pool cleaning supplies were impounded as potential evidence; see property receipts and search warrant return for complete list of impounded items. Writer notes after the concrete slab was cleared away, Dr. Erin Kimmerle of the USF Anthropology Department along with Rhonda Coolidge, Liotta Noche- Dowdy, and Cristina Echazabal used ground penetrating radar, moving it over the slab looking for abnormalities underground that would be indicative of a burial site. Writer learned that there appeared to be abnormalities in the ground present in the area where the angle iron had been placed.

At 1355 hours the slab was then broken into pieces and placed in a pile by Hillsborough County Maintenance workers with heavy equipment. The area of interest was the southwest quadrant of the slab which was separated into search grids and plotted by Det. M. Tucker # 4175 of the Traffic Homicide Unit. A work area was dug out to the east of the southwest quadrant and dirt began being removed, taking layers off from the top horizontally. A piece of plastic was recovered from under the slab, as well as soil samples at 6 and 12 inches below the slab; see property receipt and search warrant
