(Editor's Note: As with the tabs and mainstream media in the U.S., our "crack reporter," shadow, does not like to be hampered in his reporting with dates and facts - he says, "my Year-In-Review is close enough for tab and mainstream media work.")

Washington, DC – Jan. 2, 1999: Early in 1998, John and Patsy Ramsey produced their second in a series of TV Crocumentries (more to be released as "appropriate") which featured Patsy in her blue Miss West Virginia beauty contest bathing suit singing "Please Believe Me" with John on bongos. While this was a huge hit on CNN, and with older men (like shadow) who like well-endowed women, it drew lots of fire from posters on the JW Forum such as listener, Ruthee, Denver, Panico, Seashell, Greenleaf, BobC, Allipat, MrsBrady, Shamrockpati, Linda, Nikki, Ron S., etc.

Shortly thereafter, the Star tabloid published an article claiming that Elvis Prestley was the "youth" staying with Burke Ramsey the night of the murder - this resulted in three days of heated debate among JW Forum posters. Lake stressed that the Star was "half-right" - it was really Fleet White's (unnamed and unknown) son, not Elvis, with Burke. Teacher (returning from a long hiatus), pelican, reporter, gsquared, allipat, china and Greenleaf, while questioning the reliability of the Star's Elvis "sighting," ripped Lake with highly logical, but obviously hostile rebuttal. Gemini, wondered…???

In early March, with the help of the Colorado Governor, and the Ramsey defense team, Boulder DA Hunter created his Grand Jury team. The team included Kane, Levin, Morrissey, DeMuth, Grant, Ritter, Cotton Mather, the Marcus DeSade, F. Lee Bailey, and Perry Mason (expected to get a confession from a heretofore unsuspected witness). Ken Star was approached, but was tied-up with other matters.

Shortly before the seating of the Grand Jury, the entire Boulder Police Dept (BPD) resigned and filed lawsuits against everyone in Boulder and the criminal justice system in Colorado. Following the BPD's lead, Lou Smit resigned on the grounds that no one was seriously considering his very logical "intruder" theory. This theory, supported by members of Hunter's staff, insists that a highly trained team of Iraqi terrorist midgets, who "loved John Ramsey's company," killed JonBenet to get revenge on the U.S., which John Ramsey's company "represented."

With the selection of the Grand Jury in May 1998, leaks to the media totally dried-up. Pam Paugh, sister of Patsy Paugh Ramsey, went on the road in a converted Greyhound bus to spread the word of God and the Ramseys. Driven by jameson, the bus turned Santa and his wife, the photographer, the Ramsey's housekeeper and her husband, people who worked for JR's company, Suddam Hussein, and Fleet White and his (unnamed and unknown) son into "road kill."

In early December, Ken Star leaked information that suggests DNA on JonBenet's clothes belonged either to Bill Clinton or Thomas Jefferson. Whoops, wrong cases - never mind!

In late December, an article in the National Enquirer stated that Patsy and John Ramsey have considered suicide because of the death of JonBenet. This created much discussion on the JW Forum by BayBB, Ev, Byron, Anderson, Belle, mother, fly, Chris, Shamrockpati, Watching you, Starling, etc. While, as usual, Gemini, wondered…???

The authors' credibility, however, became an issue when they subsequently published another article stating that Bill Clinton was considering resigning because he "felt the country's pain," and Suddam Hussein was thinking of suicide because he couldn't live with the suffering of the Iraqi people.

All in all, 1998 kind of ended like it started. Lots of rumors, theories and opinions but very little facts in the JonBenet "incident." Let's hope 1999 brings a decision by the GJ and, with it, an indictment of the person (or persons) involved in JonBenet's death.
