Drew Peterson has been to Tailgaters four or five times since Stacy's disappearance Stacy had her first drink on her 21st birthday at Tailgaters |
ILL | 02/18/2008 (petersonstory.wordpress) Reporter’s Notebook: A few notes on the bar brawl 1) Drew Peterson was there that night [02/16/2008], but it is unclear until how late. 2) The bar closed at 2 a.m. Saturday and the altercation started outside the bar after closing time. Two men - a regular and a former employee - were arguing when the regular pushed the former employee into the window. The glass shattered and did injure him. 3) Neither man mentioned above is Drew Peterson." 4) Drew Peterson is a regular customer of Tailgaters. He has been in the bar at least 4 or 5 times since Stacy disappeared, according to bar owner Bob Zalewski. "Drew Peterson has been a familiar face at Tailgaters for several years and used to visit the bar with his wife Stacy, Zalewski said. Stacy Peterson had her first drink on her 21st birthday at the bar, he said. Since Stacy’s disappearance, Peterson occasionally visits the bar and keeps to himself, Zalewski said. However, other patrons have raised concerns - and not always quietly - about his presence at the bar. That’s what we’ve been able to gather so far, but we’re still checking on a few things. We’ll let you know if we find out anything more." |

ILL | 02/17/2008 "Community Service Council president believes Peterson case will be resolved" "Framed against the topic of domestic violence during the 2008 Annual Community Service Council of Northern Will County Benefit Brunch on Sunday, CSC Board President Carol Penning said she believes the missing person case of Stacy Peterson eventually will be resolved." - "Penning said she developed a personal relationship with Stacy Peterson six years ago when Stacy worked for two months for the Village of Bolingbrook. At the time Stacy was 17 years old, and Penning said she mentored Stacy while working closely with her, and continued to do so until Stacy disappeared in late October." - "Stacy visited Penning one week before her disappearance" "Penning also said she spoke with state police investigators following Stacy’s disappearance, although Penning would not divulge the content of her interview other than to say, “I really think Stacy was the victim of foul play.” During conversations with Stacy over the last five years, Penning became aware of what she called Drew Peterson’s constant attention that became unbearable to Stacy." |

ILL | 02/19/2008 (Nancy Grace) "Convicted Cop Killer to Testify to Drew Peterson Grand Jury" MARY FRANCES BRAGIEL, WBBM NEWSRADIO 780: Well, basically, we`re trying to get more information on this Anthony Rock. I`ve talked to a few of my sources who know nothing about this guy. Even a spokesperson for the Chicago Crime Commission that deals with organized crime knows nothing about this guy. Now, Drew Peterson tells me that he dealt with him more than 25 years ago. He sold drugs to Drew Peterson during an undercover narcotics operation, and he was able to -- as part of that, Drew was able to get him arrested and charged and convicted. Drew believes that he`s got a book deal going, which is why the grand jury has subpoenaed him. It`s a book deal about Drew Peterson. - NANCY GRACE (HOST): Mary Frances, this guy, Anthony Rock, has quite a history. Now, you`re telling me that Drew Peterson put together a case that got this guy convicted on drugs. Is that the same case that was reversed on appeal? - MARY FRANCES BRAGIEL, WBBM NEWSRADIO 780: This was -- no. Back in 1970, he was convicted of killing a Joliet detective, but that was overturned. They realized it was friendly fire. Apparently, it was another detective that killed this detective. So then back in `85 is when Drew Peterson was involved with an undercover narcotics operation. Again, he got this Anthony Rock convicted 20 years, and that was overturned on appeal. I do want to mention that. LAUREN HOWARD, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: My sense about this guy is he`s [Drew Peterson] charming, he`s a player, he`s a mover, he`s a shaker. He`s got a lot of secrets about a lot of people, and he`s been able to fly under the radar because of that. And it looks to me like what they`re going to do is try to leak out some of the dirt on him that implicates him in bad behavior. |

ED MILLER: "He [Drew Peterson] was actually fired over this because he was doing this unauthorized secret investigation" |
ILL | 02/19/2008 (Nancy Grace) "Convicted Cop Killer to Testify to Drew Peterson Grand Jury" NANCY GRACE (HOST):To Ed Miller with "America`s Most Wanted." What do you know, Ed?- ED MILLER, "AMERICA`S MOST WANTED": And he was involved in this so-called secret undercover investigation that Drew Peterson got himself into a lot of trouble -- let`s remind people about that. He was actually fired over this because he was doing this unauthorized secret investigation in which drugs were involved, et cetera, et cetera, with this reputed mobster, shall we say. So again, on appeal, Peterson gets reinstated, but there`s always been this dark cloud over his head because of that incident. So what I believe is going on is police are leaving no stone unturned. They`re going back and looking at every single person that Peterson has some sort of involvement in. And I believe it`s because of his arrogance. In other words, he has angered police to such an extent that they are bending over backwards, looking for clues. And I think that is why they`re going after this guy Rock. |

JOEL BRODSKY: "But as a narcotics officer back in the `80s, they were kind of loose canons, so to speak. He [Drew Peterson] was independent in running his investigation, they found a little bit too independent" |
ILL | 02/19/2008 (Nancy Grace) "Convicted Cop Killer to Testify to Drew Peterson Grand Jury" NANCY GRACE (HOST): Why was your client, Drew Peterson, now the chief suspect in his wife`s believed death -- why was he in a secret investigation, a drug investigation that even his own superiors knew nothing about? - JOEL BRODSKY: Well, I know that the appellate -- two appellate court judges, in reinstating Drew to his job, found that he didn`t do anything that serious. But as a narcotics officer back in the `80s, they were kind of loose canons, so to speak. He was independent in running his investigation, they found a little bit too independent. But it did net a very serious criminal, a cop killer, selling large amounts of amphetamines. And he did put him in jail for a while until it was reversed by the appellate court. NANCY GRACE: Interesting. Now, back to my original question that I didn`t quite hear an answer to, Mr. Brodsky. That would be, why was your client conducting an extensive drug investigation as an undercover narcotics agent dealing with dopers that even his own bosses didn`t know about? Why? - JOEL BRODSKY: Well, according to Drew, that was par for the course. They were pretty much independent contractors. They could conduct their investigations as they saw fit. NANCY GRACE: You know, after all my years as a narcotics prosecutor, I`ve never heard of that. - JOEL BRODSKY: They were very loosely manned. The metropolitan area narcotics squad was very loosely governed by the multiple jurisdictions that were covered, and the officers could almost, to some extent, start and pursue their own investigations. |

He`s always discovering evidence. You claim that she`s seen here, she`s seen there, but nothing ever comes of it. - JOEL BRODSKY: We`ve not -- nothing has ever borne any fruit, that`s true. We`re still looking. Nothing new has developed lately, neither from the state police or from our private investigators. One thing about her being found or being -- or coming forward -- I`ve asked that the state`s attorney`s office come forward and tell her that there would be no repercussions at all if she came forward, that she wouldn`t be any trouble... NANCY GRACE (HOST): You said that last time... JOEL BRODSKY: ... and they`ve refused to do that. NANCY GRACE (HOST): ... you were on the show because it makes absolutely no sense. JOEL BRODSKY: Well, there is a felony. NANCY GRACE (HOST): ... because there are no charges, no criminal charges. JOEL BRODSKY:: Yes, there is a felony. JOEL BRODSKY: There`s a felony disorderly conduct law in Illinois that could easily be applied to this situation. NANCY GRACE (HOST): Disorderly conduct? You know what? JOEL BRODSKY: Felony disorderly conduct. It`s a felony, a class four felony punishable by. NANCY GRACE (HOST): Under what theory? JOEL BRODSKY: ... three years in the penitentiary. NANCY GRACE (HOST): Quickly. JOEL BRODSKY: Yes, causing a false investigation and false reports knowingly. And that`s what she would be doing if she knew an investigation was going on. NANCY GRACE (HOST): I thought you said she just ran away with another man? How is that knowingly causing a felony-... JOEL BRODSKY: By knowing that she`s been reported missing and not. NANCY GRACE (HOST): You`re talking in circles. JOEL BRODSKY: No, I`m not. |

ILL | 02/21/2008 (suburbanchicagonews.com) "Peterson's 3rd wife's death ruled a homicide" "An autopsy performed on the three-year dead body of Drew Peterson’s third wife revealed the woman was a victim of a homicide — contradicting the results of a 2004 state police investigation." "The news left Peterson dumbfounded. “You’re kidding me,” said the embattled ex-cop moments after the results of the autopsy conducted on his third wife, Kathleen Savio, were released. “Unbelievable,” he said. “That’s hard to believe.” He then excused himself, saying, “I got to make a bunch of calls.” He said he is prepared to go to jail if the police show up at his door to arrest him. “Let them do it,” Peterson said. “Everything’s ready. Everything’s in place. “Let them do their thing,” he added, almost daring police and prosecutors to pull the trigger on charges. “The thing is, do what you got to do,” he said defiantly. “You roll the dice, I’ll roll the dice.” |

Kathleen's Sister Anna Marie Doman "I think they should really investigate the people who blew it the first time" | ILL | 02/21/2008 (www.chicagotribune.com) "2004 death of Kathleen Savio ruled a homicide" "The development was encouraging to Savio's sister, Anna Marie Doman. "We've always known in our hearts that it was [murder], but now finally we're getting some confirmation and it will be investigated the way it should have been," she said. "I think they should really investigate the people who blew it the first time. . . . [A]ny blind man could have seen that it was a homicide." "But Savio's family disputed that version of events from the beginning. They kept medical records and other documents detailing Savio's allegations of abuse and her frustration at the inaction of authorities. Her sister, Susan Doman, told the coroner's jury that Savio had warned her that if she died, it may only look like an accident. "[She] was just terrified of [Drew Peterson]," Doman testified. "He always threatened her. . . . He did many, many things to her. He wished only for her to go away." |

Seriously. Stacy was 23 years old. She hadn’t lived her life yet.” |

ILL | 02/21/2008 (suburbanchicagonews.com) "Peterson's 3rd wife's death ruled a homicide" "Also on Thursday [02/21/2008], convicted cop killer Anthony “Bindy” Rock appeared before that grand jury, a pair of sources said. Confronted at the office of his attorney, John Schrock, neither he nor his lawyer would confirm or deny that Rock testified. The sources said the 68-year-old Rock, who is reputed to have organized crime connections, received immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony. Again, neither man would confirm this was the case. "Schrock did accuse Peterson of “shaking Bindy down for money” in 1985, when Peterson was an undercover officer with the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad. Peterson dismissed the allegation, saying, “It doesn’t matter. Whatever he says don’t mean nothing.” Peterson did express his appreciation for Rock. “I always liked Bindy, just because he was a character,” he said. “He was a known criminal, but he had a personality that made him fun to work." |

ILL | 02/21/2008 (www.chicagotribune.com) "2004 death of Kathleen Savio ruled a homicide" "We have been investigating this as a murder since reopening the case," Will County State's Atty. James Glasgow said in a written statement announcing the new autopsy had determined her death was a homicide. "We now have a scientific basis to formally and publicly classify it as such. Thursday marked the first time Savio's death has been classified a murder, said Glasgow spokesman Charles Pelkie. Homicide is a technical term meaning that a person died at the hands of another. It does not necessarily mean the death was the result of a criminal act." "Joel Brodsky, Peterson's attorney, said Thursday's statement only added to the confusion surrounding Savio's death. "They're contradicting themselves," he said, referring to the state police special agent who testified at the coroner's inquest that there did not appear to be any foul play. The state police called my house while I was at work. I got home a little after 5:00, and she picked me up at work and she told me that they had called and what they said, that it was a homicide. ANNA DOMAN, KATHLEEN SAVIO'S SISTER: Right. Well, I knew this was going to come out as a homicide, but it was like a weight off my shoulders because now they can find out who killed my sister. Now everybody's finally listening and saying, Yes, the investigation can proceed and find out who did it. That's what we want to know, who did it. |

ILL | 02/21/2008 (Greta OTR) "Drew Peterson's Third Wife's Death Officially Ruled a Homicide" ANNA DOMAN, KATHLEEN SAVIO'S SISTER: "We thought — it was so stressful in the beginning, I mean, I almost had a nervous breakdown over the whole thing. It was horrible. It was horrible. I was depressed for such a long, long time. I actually had to go, you know, get some therapy just to get through it. It was not only losing my sister. I was very close to my sister. We used to finish each other's sentences. I mean, we thought alike. We did so many things alike. It just was not having anyone listen. You have all this — I had all these papers from her and all the things she tried to do. And they're all going, Oh, don't worry about it, you know, like you're kind of goofy or something. And then it just went away, and we were just heart- broken. We were at the juror's — the coroner's inquest. We were all there. And it was like somebody threw a bomb on us and we just had, you know, like, everybody had all this big weight on our shoulders. Now it's like the weight is being lifted. It's not gone. It'll never be gone. But it's lifted. It's better. We can finally breathe and say, OK, let's find out what happened. Who did this?" |

And I don't know anyone else who had a key. I didn't even have a key. She had had the locks changed. I don't know who had a key. I don't know if Drew had a key or not. I believe he had a garage door opener. I am not positive. I believe he did." GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: The other theory is that she let somebody in. Did she have any sort of — did she have a romantic interest at the time? She was separated from Drew, actually divorced. They were about to do their property settlement. ANNA DOMAN, KATHLEEN SAVIO'S SISTER: She did have a boyfriend. Yes, she did have a boyfriend. GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Do you know where he was that weekend? ANNA DOMAN, KATHLEEN SAVIO'S SISTER: I don't think he was with her that night. I mean, she was by herself that evening. He's a very busy guy. He's got his own business and he's got a lot of things going on, so — he tried to spend as much time as he could, but he lived in the northern suburbs, so you know, he couldn't just drop over, you know, that easily. Police say nothing suggests remains are connected to Stacy Peterson | ILL | 02/22/2008 (www.chicagotribune.com) "Human remains found in Downers Grove" "The DuPage County coroner's office will inspect human remains found beneath snow and ice Thursday in Downers Grove. Workers clearing brush in Lyman Woods near 36th Street and Sterling Road called 911 around 1:30 p.m. after discovering the skeletal remains, police said. DuPage County coroner's officials determined the remains were human, but they were unable to tell the age, race and gender, police said. A forensic examination will be conducted by the coroner's office once the bones are removed from the wooded lot. Police warned because of ice and snow, the process could be delayed. There was nothing, police said, that suggested the remains were connected to the disappearances last year of Lisa Stebic or Stacy Peterson." |

Q: How did you and your team get another autopsy for Drew Peterson's third wife Kathleen Savio? Take us behind the scenes. A: "We were in Bolingbrook a short time after Stacy disappeared. One day, the police showed up at Drew Peterson's home with search warrants. While they were executing the search, Kathleen Savio's sister showed up, and as we were talking to her, we learned that she had a briefcase full of documents — including Savio's 2004 autopsy. Naturally, we asked to see all of them. "On the Record" Producer Steph Watts and others got the documents." Q: Why weren't the police and prosecutors investigating Savio's death as a murder before you got involved (or were they)? Do you think they were protecting Peterson, since he was a cop? A: "I think the police in 2004 and the then-prosecutor were lazy or overwhelmed with other investigations. There was a very sloppy coroner's jury, which concluded — based on the sloppy work presented to them — that it was an accident. Once her death was determined by that jury to be an accident, no one bothered to look further or to try and help the family seek justice. I guess — and I hate to say this — no one cared." Q: What role did you play in the exhumation of the body? A: "We pushed the investigation (not the exhumation) with lots of reports on our show and with our "OTR" producers and journalists seeking more and more and more information. The exhumation was done at the direction of the state (the prosecutor)." |

They gathered at Kingston Mines on North Halsted Saturday to remember 45-year-old John Spira. The musician and businessman was last seen on February 23, 2007. He was leaving his business in west Chicago. Several months later, Spira's office went up in flames. There have been several searches for Spira, but his disappearance has not received national attention like other missing persons cases. "Sometimes, it seems like things are moving in slow motion. And now, I look back and I can't believe its been a year. So much has happened. So much has happened, and yet we still don't have the answers that we need," said Stephanie McNeil, Spira's sister. Lyons said." "O'Neil fired back that Lyons is "trying to mislead the public with this nonsense." O'Neil actually hired Lyons as a deputy coroner in 2002. Lyons quit the job in 2005. O'Neil called Lyons' job performance "mediocre at best. Lyons maintains that if he had been the coroner in 2004, he would have halted the inquest and sent it back to the state police for another look. O'Neil said he has never stopped any of the 2,000 inquests he has presided over and is not aware of any other coroners doing it either. He also noted it is not his position to sway or "poison" the jury, and once they made their decision, he had to accept it. "When they said, 'Accidental,' I couldn't stand up and say, 'What they heck are you guys talking about? You can't do that,'" O'Neil said." "A statement prepared by Will County Republican Chairwoman Robin Ambrosia about the matter begins, "Where does the buck stop and what specific fact changed from Kathleen Savio's flawed autopsy in 2004?" Lyons co-wrote the statement with Ambrosia. Lyons said this statement contained a "typo" and should have read "flawed investigation." O'Neil, who had obtained the statement and was not yet aware of the "typo," questioned how Lyons could criticize the autopsy. "When is he a doctor? He's a professional clown," O'Neil said, pointing out that Lyons does in fact work as a clown." |

[03/02/2008]" - "They say the winter weather has made it next to impossible for police and volunteers to resume the search. So they are waiting for a break in the snow, and for temperatures to rise, so that hopefully dive teams can go into ponds and areas that have not been searched yet. Peterson's neighbors held a news conference to promote an upcoming fundraiser on Sunday and to say that the investigation is still moving ahead. "As soon as we can get where the snow goes away, and we can get to water searching, we have the water team that's more than willing to come back as soon as we can, and as soon as the weather breaks for us," said Sharon Bychowski, Stacy Peterson's friend. "I talked to Illinois State Police two to three times a week and never get the feeling that it stalled. The investigators took the property -- including guns and computers -- in November as they investigated the disappearance of Peterson's wife, Stacy. Judge Richard Schoenstedt made the ruling during a morning hearing. The only condition is that Peterson must agree not to challenge the validity of photographs of the property or documents related to them at any future trial. ILL | 02/27/2008 (SunTimes) "Judge: Drew can have possessions back after court appearance" "But Judge Richard Schoenstedt ruled that the ex-Bolingbrook cop won’t get any of his property back until after Peterson appears in court next month. Schoenstedt said he wants to personally explain to Peterson the terms of his court order, which would bar Peterson — if he is ever charged — from challenging the validity of photos and other documents relating to the seized property. Peterson’s attorney said after the hearing that those terms are acceptable." "But Will County prosecutors don’t want Peterson to get back the 11 guns taken from his home. Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow has filed a letter asking Illinois State Police to revoke Peterson’s firearm owners identification card, though a spokesman wouldn’t say why Glasgow wants the card pulled. Under the terms of the court order, revoking the FOID card would bar Peterson from getting the firearms back." |

She said that returning items should not hamper a criminal investigation. In court Wednesday [02/27/2008], Will County Assistant State's Atty. John Connor told the judge his office has sent a letter to Illinois State Police asking that Peterson's FOID card be revoked. Chuck Pelkie, a spokesman for State's Atty. James Glasgow, confirmed the letter was sent Tuesday [02/26/2008] but would not elaborate on the basis for the request. Brodsky said it was the first time he had heard of the letter and he doubted police would find any cause to have the card revoked. Drew Peterson's Firearms FOID Card Revoked PETERSON: "I knew that was coming," "Just another pain in the [rear]." |
ILL | 02/27/2008 (chicagotribune.com) "Drew Peterson's gun card revoked" "State police revoked Drew Peterson's firearm permit Wednesday, just hours after a Will County judge ordered officials to return guns and other items to the former Bolingbrook police sergeant. State's Atty. James Glasgow sent a written request Tuesday to Larry Trent, state police director, for the revocation of Peterson's Firearm Owner's Identification card, officials said. By Wednesday evening, the state's attorney's office confirmed the card had been revoked. The move put a damper on an otherwise victorious day for Peterson. "I knew that was coming," Peterson said from New York City, where he was scheduled to appear Thursday on the "Today" show. "Just another pain in the [rear]." "Schoenstedt said he would decide on March 17 whether the two sides have issues to iron out and to admonish Peterson in person as to his responsibility. If both sides are in agreement, the property would be returned by March 28. State's attorney's office spokesman Charles Pelkie, who called the judge's order reasonable, would not elaborate on reasons used to revoke Peterson's FOID card." |

"I've called the state's attorney, and Drew has specifically said to the state police that if there's ever a warrant out for him, that they should call me and we'll walk in," Brodsky said. "I think it's more vexatious behavior. I don't think it's the state's attorney, but rather the state police, and I think it's a fairly sad commentary that they're trying to avoid compliance with a court order for no valid reason. I mean, if there was a reason to revoke Drew's FOID card, you figure they could have done it a long time ago." |

"I'm concerned that there's more emphasis and more of an effort to cater to the media frenzy than there is to looking into the issues surrounding the investigations," Odeh said. "It just seems to me that when there's nothing going on with the investigation and things are quiet in the media, it seems like sometimes either Joel or Drew says something to start the media frenzy all over again." "Brodsky has mounted an aggressive campaign for media coverage, including interviews with national TV shows. Asked whether she discussed those issues with Brodsky, Odeh said, "Absolutely. I don't think it's appropriate. I think it is in the client's best interest to keep it quiet and focus on the case. But he just says the case is going to make us famous and we're all going to get book deals. "If we would have come back with murder instead, maybe Stacey Peterson would still be here today," Jim Pretto told ABC News. "There is a little bit of guilt that because of that, maybe somebody else was murdered because of that. That maybe could have been stopped." "A state police officer testified at the inquest that there was no evidence that Savio had been murdered. Pretto faulted investigators for failing to present enough evidence at the inquest and said that if he had known all the facts about the case in 2004, he would have called Savio's death a homicide. "There was no evidence at all to point toward it being a murder," Pretto said. "There was nothing presented at all." "Though a police officer at the inquest said police had received domestic disturbance calls from Savio, the jurors did not hear that police were called to Savio and Peterson's house 18 times. Peterson was never arrested. The jury also did not hear that Savio in 2002 asked for a restraining order against Peterson. The papers read, "he has restrained me, held me down, knocked me into walls & left marks on my body all the time." A police officer who testified at the inquiry did not go to the scene of Savio's death or attend her autopsy. He testified that he was not aware of any insurance policies on Savio, though she did have life insurance." - "Pretto said that though the jurors on the coroner's inquest were suspicious, they did not have enough evidence to call Savio's death anything but an accident. ILL | 02/28/2008 (Nancy Grace) "Drew Peterson Says He`s Mentally Prepared to Be Put on Trial" KERRY SIMMONS, STACY`S STEPSISTER: Hi, Nancy. You know, I think the thing that hit me the most was the fact that he actually had said that he was in control of his family. And people aren`t in control of their families. You discipline your children and you work together with your spouse as a family. And just the fact that he said he was in control meant he had to have everything his way when he needed it a certain way. And we know that he was very controlling of Stacy, the way he followed her and tracked her phone calls, and you know, basically went everywhere she went. NANCY GRACE: Kerry, what do you believe has happened to Stacy? KERRY SIMMONS: You know, I believe Drew lost control, and I think that upset him very much. And we don`t think Stacy ever left the house that day. You know, she was getting ready to leave, and you know, I think that was what ended everything and that`s why she`s not here with us. |

ILL | Greta Van Sustern "On the Record" Update (02/28/2008) RECAP by "Snicker": GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: We have DP's former friend Ric Mims with us. When LE seized DP's belongings did they seize all his guns? - RIC MIMS: No they didn't. The night after they did the first search warrant DP pulled a folding gun out of his pocket and said "they didn't get this one." (Greta showed a photo of a folding gun.) There were also his old badges and IDs that he also hid. - GRETA: Why do you think he showed this to you? - MIMS: He was just trying to show me that they didn't get those things and he's still in control. - GRETA: DP had the right to own guns up until the past day or so. So he was not in violations of anything to have that gun and didn't have anything to be concerned about. - MIMS: Now he does. Now that he doesn't have a permit to carry a gun, it's up to the police to handle that. GRETA: Have you spoken to DP lately? - MIMS: I ran into him in a clothing store, but I didn't speak to him. I was shopping with my daughter and he was in the men's section of a clothing store. When I went to the register, he got in line behind me. We didn't speak. Then the register closed down and I had to move to another one, but we still didn't speak. |

ILL | Greta Van Sustern "On the Record" Update (02/28/2008) RECAP by "Snicker": GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: We have JB on the phone. - JOEL BRODSKY: We just pulled in on the plane. DP is going to obtain an attorney for the boys and the hearing will be postponed. When the boy first spoke with a child advocate, DP was promised that the boys would not have to testify before the GJ, so he's very disappointed that they will have to. - GRETA: We just had Ric Mims on and he stated that DP showed him a folding gun he had after the rest of his guns were seized. Does he have any guns? - BRODSKY: No, LE took all of his guns. - GRETA: I'm sure you are aware that his FOID card has been revoked. - BRODSKY: We don't know why yet. This is just a pretext by LE to further vex DP because this happened within 24 hours of the hearing and it doesn't usually happen that quickly. - GRETA: Do you know anything about the folding gun? - BRODSKY: No I don't. Ric Mim's credibility is questionable anyway. - GRETA: Do you know where Thomas Morphey is? - BRODSKY: No, Thomas Morphey has not been heard from for months. No one that we know of has heard from RM, even the family doesn't know where he is. We know of no reason he would be in protective custody. If he was in protective custody, we would certainly know about it. Apparently he just slipped off and disappeared. |

"Drew Peterson is hoping to change that .. by hiring a public relations expert to reshape his public image" | ILL | 02/29/2008 (www.wbbm780.com) "Peterson Aims to Shape Up His Image" "As the saying goes, “you never get a second chance … to make a first impression” Drew Peterson is hoping to change that .. by hiring a public relations expert to reshape his public image. Publicists Glenn Selig tells Newsradio 780 Peterson is in a no win situation in the court of public opinion claiming no matter what he does people are going to be skeptical. But he says there is another side to Peterson, calling him soft spoken and nice. He says for the last few months’ people have only seen one side of Peterson, adding the former Bolingbrook police officer didn’t do himself any favors with some of his antics." "Selig says he is not retooling Peterson’s image, just letting people see the side of Peterson that is normal and dealing with an extraordinary situation." |

Brodsky "said a special agent with the state police made the deal to keep the children away from the grand jury" | ILL | 02/29/2008 (www.suburbanchicagonews.com) "Peterson's sons to face grand jury" "The state police welshed on Drew Peterson, the lawyer for the suspected killer said Thursday, and moved to drag his teenage sons before a grand jury after assuring him otherwise. They're already been interviewed at length by the child advocacy center," Peterson's attorney, Joel Brodsky said of the ex-cop's teenage sons, Thomas and Kristopher. "Drew allowed that so they wouldn't have to go before the grand jury. "They've doing it anyway," Brodsky said. "So they're going back on their word." Brodsky, who made his comments en route to John F. Kennedy airport after appearing with Peterson on the "Today" show, said a special agent with the state police made the deal to keep the children away from the grand jury. The two boys reportedly were to be called before the grand jury Thursday but the appearance was canceled. "I wish I could comment on the delay," Brodsky said. "There's a court order prohibiting me from commenting." |
