The judge announced that news Wednesday [02/27/2008] morning during a brief hearing." - "At the conclusion of that hearing, Schoenstedt said he wanted to think about the issue and would announce his decision at a later date." "If Peterson's agrees to his conditions, he can have his property, the judge said. But the state will take photographs of the cars, guns and computers to use in a trial if any charges ever are filed against Peterson -- or anyone else -- in connection to the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, the judge said. The state also will copy the information on the hard drive of the computers to use as evidence in any future trial, Schoenstedt said. Additionally, Peterson must agree that he won't challenge the validity of the photographs or the copies of the hard drives if charges are filed, Schoenstedt said. But nothing will be returned if Peterson doesn't come to his courtroom and agree to the conditions, Schoenstedt said."

If she allows that to happen, lawyers for Savio's family could begin investigating the way her estate was handled and the distribution of her assets, including thousands of dollars from the sale of a home and a business she owned with her ex-husband, Drew Peterson. In the end, a wrongful death lawsuit might be filed, those lawyers said Monday [03/17/08] morning." "In Goodman's courtroom Monday [03/17/08], Joel Brodsky, Drew Peterson's Chicago lawyer; Varsek; and Martin Glink, an Arlington Heights-based lawyer who is also working with the Savios, hashed out some scheduling issues. However, the statute of limitations ran over two years ago. - JEFFREY SKATOFF, WILL AND PROBATE ATTORNEY: Nancy, as far as reopening the estate goes, Illinois has what`s called the "slayer statute," which means that if you establish that somebody killed the deceased, they can`t inherit from the estate. What they want to do is open up -- reopen the estate to administer what they`re calling a new asset. But that asset doesn`t exist. But Peterson still can't get his guns back because he was stripped of his firearm owner's identification card last month at the behest of State's Attorney James Glasgow. Peterson is appealing the state police decision to revoke his FOID card." "We're hoping for the hundreds of people who drive through the court every week, [someone] will have the courage to call the tip line," Bychowski said. Brodsky said Peterson is being harassed. His client has been the target of ridicule and threats on blogs and online forums. At times when the news media attention is especially intense, Peterson gets as many as several death threats a week, Brodsky said. "It's a mob mentality that has run away, but there are laws that I assume will be enforced," Brodsky said. "The people who are responsible are not only the posters but the people who run the Web site and allow these postings to take place."

Loved ones have placed "Find Stacy" posters in hundreds of locations, including many on Pheasant Chase Court, some facing the Peterson home. Peterson's attorney, Joel Brodsky, said Peterson was not happy about it. "There is a difference between trying to find Stacy and trying to harass Drew," said Brodsky. "It's not even a fine line, it's a very bold line, and they have crossed it." Peterson said he was spending $1,600 a month renting a car while police had his vehicles. Police spoke to Bychowski and Taylor, but took no action. Taylor denies Brodsky's allegations. CBS 2 West Suburban Bureau Chief Mike Puccinelli reports the gun is so small it can be concealed in a belt buckle. And a source close to the Stacy Petersen investigation says Drew Petersen concealed a mini-revolver so well in his house that Illinois state police officers never found it, despite the fact that search warrants were executed netting 11 other firearms. "Illinois State Police have come to me and told me that my sister did not leave willingly, which is what my gut instinct was Oct. 28," Cales said. Buoyed by a break in the seemingly endless winter, Cales and friends of Stacy held a news conference Wednesday to announce they were eager to resume the search for answers. They could begin as early as this weekend, weather permitting." "Drew Peterson believes that my sister left and we should be searching in other towns or Thailand and Jamaica and she left on vacation," Cales said. "But the reason we are searching bushes and under rocks and, basically, we're going to turn Bolingbrook upside down [is] because my sister did not leave willingly. She was taken." "At the news conference, Cales appealed to the public for help. Search coordinator Roy Taylor said training videos will be shown Saturday to help prepare volunteers to safely search, mark suspicious locations and not disturb possible evidence. In December, Schori said Stacy made her shocking revelation during a meeting between the two of them in a Bolingbrook coffee shop. Schori said Stacy blurted out the shocking accusation in August. 03/28/2008 "Forensic pathologist who examined Kathleen Savio's body before GJ" "A Will County special grand jury convened to investigate the death of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, and the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, heard Thursday from a doctor who autopsied Savio, a source said. Dr. Larry W. Blum is the forensic pathologist who performed the Nov. 13 autopsy. In his report, he determined that "compelling evidence exists to support the conclusions that the cause of death . . . was drowning and further, that the manner of death was homicide."
